Accra Mall's Game branch was closed due to the E-VAT Invoicing system.

The Game shopping center at Accra Mall has been closed by the Ghana Revenue Authority due to non-compliance with the E-VAT Invoicing system.

The number of stores and supermarkets the tax collector has locked up since Monday now stands at 10.

There have also been closures of major franchises like Palace Mall and China Mall.

The mall's managers conferred with their corporate office in South Africa before asking all customers who were making purchases at the time of the visit to leave.

The GRA has emphasized that it will not stop working to make sure that its electronic invoicing system is followed.

Kwasi Eghan, the Deputy Commissioner of Operations in charge of the Domestic Tax Revenue Division at GRA, spoke to the media earlier and expressed his optimism that all firms anticipated to use the platform will do so by the end of this week.

"I'm sure some folks are just testing the waters to see what would happen if they don't latch on; we'll shut you down," the man said. If we shut down, you won't be able to reopen until we've finished setting you up, he warned.
