Speaker is urged by the majority to hold the September legislative session in the Dome.

The Speaker, Alban Bagbin, has been urged by the Majority in Parliament to take into consideration utilizing a specifically built dome at the parking lot for parliamentary business on September 3, 2024.

This recommendation follows the Speaker's recall of Parliamentarians for an emergency session after the Majority Leader, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, petitioned for it.

The recall was started by members of the Majority caucus because they were not happy with the Speaker's plan to halt sessions indefinitely on July 30, 2024.

Following the recall, the Speaker has stated that an alternate location would be announced in due course due to current renovations in Parliament that might jeopardize the Chamber's availability for proceedings.
In a media encounter, Second Deputy Majority Whip in Parliament Alex Tetteh Djournobuah suggested that a dome be made accessible for parliamentary activities, even in the event that the Chamber is not going to be used as stated.

"I don't see any remodeling work being done in the Chamber, but even if it were, we could still use the dome. We conducted parliamentary activity in the COVID-19 era using the dome in the parking lot, and we may utilize that one to carry out any necessary tasks.
