MAHAMA PROMISES TO RESTORE LICENSES OF COLLAPSED BANKS

Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) John Dramani Mahama has promised to restore the licenses of the banks that got their licenses revoked wrongly during the financial sector cleanup.

The former President made this promise during the manifesto launch of the National Democratic Congress in Winneba on Saturday 24th August 2024.

According to Mr. Mahama, this promise comes from several appeals made by the indigenous banks' owners, workers, and customers to him on his listening tour.

He said some banks and financial institutions who had their licenses revoked were not treated fairly and thus his resolve to restore their licenses to operate when given the nod to return to power as President.

He believes this move will restore people's livelihood and create many job opportunities for others in his 24-hour economy.

He also promised that his administration would introduce measures to deal with the fall of the Cedi against the Dollar and rationalize the fees charged at the ports.
