HOHOE UNITED VS KUMASI ASANTE KOTOKO IN "DON'T WORRY" MEMORIAL CUP MATCH DRAWS MORE THAN 6000 SPECTATORS


Over 6,000 spectators were in attendance for the "Gertrude Anani Amewu" Memorial Cup when Hohoe United FC clashed with Kumasi Asante Kotoko at the Hohoe Sports Complex. The match which ended in a 1:1 draw was a memorial cup match in honour of the late Mrs. Gertrude Anani Amewu, mother of the Member of Parliament for Hohoe Constituency, Hon John Peter Amewu. The Porcupine Warriors opened the scoring in the first half while the equalizer by Hohoe United came in the second half.

Hon Amewu in his appreciation post, underscored the importance of football as a key ingredient to unity and development, which knows no ethnic or political divisions thus, ought to be used as a tool of oneness. He thanked the officials and players of Asante Kotoko Sporting Club for honoring the invitation as well as Hohoe United Football Club - Hufc boys for not letting him and the supporters down by avoiding defeat in open play against premier giants like Kotoko.
