Stop personalizing license plates, the DVLA tells motorists.

Car owners have been warned by the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) to stop personalizing their license plates.

Thousands of drivers have flocked to the Authority's headquarters to register their vehicles, prompting the warning from them.

Attah Kumah Mensah, the Greater Accra Regional Manager of DVLA, warned drivers who adorn their license plates that they risk legal repercussions in an interview.

"Any number that the authority supplies is required by law; as a result, it is illegal to have embellished license plates installed on your vehicle. And luckily, the DVLA in combination with the MTTD treats those people legally when they are captured. Kumah Mensah, please.

In order to help vehicle owners get their vehicles registered for the next year, 2023, the DVLA released a set of necessary rules in December 2022.

In a statement, the licensing authority asked the general people to adhere to the instructions to get their vehicles registered in accordance with the Road Traffic Regulations, 2012. (L.1 2180).

On January 3, 2023, the registration period's procedures got underway.

Drivers were instructed by the DVLA to bring their cars to any authorized Vehicle Testing Station for equipment-based testing.
