Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, the Minister of Information, has asked the Majority and Minority sides of Parliament to work closely together to develop a workable budget plan that will help the Ghanaian economy get back on track.
The Minister hinted in a post on the social media platform Twitter that the government's economic plan for the following year, which will be delivered to Parliament on Thursday, November 24, 2022, will focus on prudent economic policies that will help reboot the economy and, as a result, will require cooperation from both sides of the house.
"The basis of our recovery is intended to be the 2023 budget. To create a workable budget program, Majority and Minority will need to collaborate in the interest of the country, he tweeted.
The Minister gave some hints as to the main components of the budget, saying that they would be restoring macroeconomic stability, stopping the rise in living expenses, attaining modest growth, and finishing up current government projects across the nation.
According to him, the budget statement must be carefully drafted in order to gain the support of all societal groups because it is a requirement for securing an IMF contract.
