At the Gomoa Odumase in the Central Region, a commercial vehicle carrying passengers broke a tyre and collided with a tree, inflicting injuries on 15 people of varied degrees.
According to eyewitnesses, the speeding driver lost control of the steering wheel, causing the car to crash into a tree at the side of the road.
All of the seats in the car were displaced as a result of the collision's tremendous impact, and all of the passengers suffered injuries of varying severity.
At the St. Luke Catholic Hospital in Apam, the victims are receiving medical attention.
While urging drivers to drive cautiously, the commander of the Apam fire, DOI Adolf Ankomah Nuamah, also urged the Highway Authority to implement speed-reduction measures.
"Drivers will speed or overtake incorrectly in that location, making it important to have some sort of control because it is an accident-prone, high-risk area. In the recent days, this has happened twice. The same location saw an accident on Saturday as well. So, in order to restrict the speed, we are expecting that the Highway Authority would build some ramps there.
