GPRTU will increase transportation costs by 19% as of October 29.

 Ghanaians should expect to pay extra for transportation starting on Saturday, October 29, 2022, when the Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU) is expected to raise prices by 19%.

The union claims that the decision was required by the ongoing rise in petroleum product prices at different fuel pumps.

The price of diesel and gasoline at major fuel stations is currently over GH15 and GH13, respectively; according to transport operators, this is reducing their profit.

In the meantime, starting on Monday, October 24, VIP JEOUN announced additional transportation fees for the general public.

Accra-Kumasi fare, which was formerly GH85, is now GH100, while Accra-Sunyani fare is now GH130.

Also required is GH240 for those traveling from Accra to Tamale.
