Following the recent increase in the price of petroleum products, the Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU) is aiming for a 30 to 40 percent increase in transportation costs.
The union has stated that the upward adjustment will be negotiated starting tomorrow.
According to Godfred Abulbire, the general secretary of the GPRTU, such increases and other considerations have forced this proposition, he stated in an interview.
"We're going to start negotiating by Tuesday. With the forecast or reports we have received as a starting point, we will be able to determine how much [transport fares will increase]."
