101 Ghanaians receive scholarships from the Japanese JDS and ABE project.

Young, talented Ghanaians who have been offered scholarships for this year's batch of Master's Degree and Internship Programs in some top Japanese Universities have been hosted by the Chief Representative of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Mr. Araki Yasumichi, and the Training Team of JICA Ghana.

An important part of their journey was a pre-departure debriefing session at the JICA Ghana Office.

It is a component of the training exercises to give students the necessary preparation on crucial subjects including academics and student life, travel plans, and some viewpoints on studying in Japan.

This will guarantee that their time in Japan is productive, educational, and fruitful.

These Ghanaian officials will receive specialized training in governance, education, agriculture, health, industrial policy, and other fields that are essential to their professional growth as well as the growth of the institutional capabilities of their respective organizations.

In addition to receiving the main meal, the beneficiaries, according to Mr. ARAKI Yasumichi, would also have the chance to learn about Japan's modernization and development experiences. He emphasized the significance of human resource development.

He also expressed the hope that Ghana's current crop of beneficiaries would return to assume leadership positions and strengthen the decades-long relationship and collaboration between the two nations.

The Japanese government announced the "African Business Education Initiative for Youth," or "ABE Initiative," a strategic plan to give young people in Africa opportunities to study for a Master's degree at Japanese universities and experience internships at Japanese companies at the 5th Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD V), held in Yokohama in 2013. The Japanese government also stated its policy of strengthening support for Africa through stronger public-private partnerships.

Within the context of the ABE Initiative, JICA implements the master's degree and internship program in Ghana.

A total of 101 Ghanaians are now studying in Japan as part of the JICA Long-term Training Program, which also includes the JDS and ABE Initiative.
