We will not interact with you till you apologize - Afenyo-Markin Minority

The Minority in Parliament has demanded Deputy Majority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin to apologize to the group for statements he made about their choice not to approve cabinet nominations.

Speaking to the media, Deputy Minority Leader Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah stated that the Minority caucus would stop cooperating with Mr. Afenyo-Markin if he does not apologize and continued on the tangent of insulting minority members.

"We feel we are in a severe situation, and this House is a serious House. It is not an insulting home, and we will not fall into its gutters with him. If he is serious about engagements, he should be; if he continues on this route, we will not deal with him as a leader." We will push him to apologize so that we can move on since our primary goal is to fight for the people of Ghana."

Mr Armah-Kofi Buah's remark came after the deputy Majority Leader, Afenyo-Markin, termed the Minority's refusal to approve any of the cabinet nominations as political immaturity.

"We in the Minority desire to make it clear that we are dedicated to ensuring more scrutiny and will spare no effort to preserve the public purse. In keeping with this, we are participating in the vetting process so that we may, at the very least, review the President's choice to put up those nominees. The Minority, on the other hand, will not support a consensus vote at the Appointments Committee level."
