The Minority said on Monday that they will not vote for any of the nominees chosen by President Nana Akufo-Addo to occupy various government positions.
The decision followed a request by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) General Secretary, Fifi Kwetey, asking Minority Appointments Committee members to reject all applicants.
However, several members of the public hoped that the Minority's viewpoint would be changed after participating in the two-day vetting process and notably interrogating some of the appointments for extended amounts of time.
On Tuesday, the Parliamentary Majority caucus also urged the National Democratic Congress and the Minority caucus to reverse their decision not to accept the new ministers.
Speaking to the media, Majority Chief Whip Frank Annoh-Dompreh urged the NDC and its members in Parliament to support the cabinet nominations.
"I simply want our colleagues to recognize that this is their important choice for the sake of unity and the desire for us to create a working partnership. In terms of the fact that they are coming into leadership, this is the first time more or less they are going to make such an important choice".
But, Minority Chief Whip Governs Kwame Agbodza told the reporters on Tuesday that their position is unchanged.
The Adaklu MP went on to say that their choice was based on ideals rather than personal interests.
"As we indicated previously, it has nothing to do with personality. We also argued that it was founded on values, that the country's debt was unsustainable, and that the government should find a method to realign departments.
"As we speak, there is no movement in terms of our choice not to support at this level, therefore nothing has changed in our position on the candidates' approval or rejection."
Bryan Acheampong, who will lead the Ministry of Food and Agriculture in place of Dr. Afriyie Akoto, who resigned to pursue his presidential ambitions, is among the nominees vetted. Stephen Asamoah Boateng will also handle the business of the Chieftaincy Ministry.
The others are OB Amoah, MP for Akwapim South and now Minister of State at the Ministry of Local Government, Decentralisation, and Rural Development, and Dr Mohammed Amin Adam, MP for Karaga and now Minister of State designate at the Ministry of Finance.
