Tahiru Issahaku Ahmed, Chief Executive of the Bawku West Municipal Assembly in the Upper East Region, has said that the inhabitants of Burkina Faso who fled to Ghana have returned home.

In an update, the MCE stated that tranquility has been restored in Burkina Faso, therefore the choice of the immigrants to return.
"Those who arrived from Burkina Faso are now returning since circumstances have calmed down. Because to Jihadist activity in Burkina Faso, some people fled to Ghana, mainly my district, and settled in Bawku West. They are the ones who have departed, and they are just a handful. "I used to have approximately 4,058 of them coming into my municipality, but now I only had about 195," Tahiru Issahaku Ahmed said.
Because of the operations of violent extremists, refugees from neighboring Burkina Faso were compelled to flee the nation.
In recent years, the activities of violent extremists in Burkina Faso have resulted in the deaths of numerous Burkinabes.
