Krobea Asante School: A committee will be formed to investigate vandalism.

A committee will be formed to investigate recent disruptions by pupils of the Krobea Asante Technical and Vocational School in Effiduase Asokore in the Ashanti Region's Sekeyere East District.

After a District Security Council meeting, Regional Minister Simon Osei Mensah revealed this.

"This is condemnable, but we are now discussing with the Regional Security Council, the Ministry of Education to create a committee to investigate the situation. The committee members' names will be released soon. "The Ministry of Education and the Regional Security Council are looking into this," he stated.

The Regional Minister also wants the school's Student Representative Council (SRC) leaders to turn themselves in or face being proclaimed sought by police.

The school has been temporarily closed after students went on a rampage on Sunday.

The kids created a power outage, broke into the school's storerooms, and scattered food products.

Although the cause for the disruptions is unknown, officials believe the action might be related to the students' discontent with their predecessors' low achievement in the 2022 end-of-year assessment.

"We have also demanded that the parents of the SRC leaders who are on the run to submit their kids for interrogation or we would proclaim all of them wanted-the school prefect, the assistants and the others. I'll never believe the kids did what they did without their superiors' knowledge. Everything will be revealed later.

"When the school will reopen will also be determined following the investigation," the Minister stated.

Meanwhile, police have arrested around 40 students in connection with the rioting.
