Observe the removal path for Ofori-Atta and send your NPP MPs to Akufo-Addo.

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has been urged to go by the agreed-upon plan by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) lawmakers who want Ken Ofori-Atta fired from his post as finance minister.

Following the present economic crisis, a few unhappy members of the Majority Caucus put pressure on the President in October to fire his Finance Minister.

Disgruntled lawmakers vowed to boycott the 2023 Budget presentation and any other government activity in Parliament if the President did not remove the Finance Minister, blaming the terrible state of the economy in major part for their request.

However, before the Minister was fired, President Akufo-Addo pleaded with them to give him time to wrap up the IMF talks and deliver the 2023 Budget.

The President urged the Members to attend the complete budget presentation on November 24. As a result, the Members are now pleading with the President to take the appropriate action.

Speaking to reporters in Parliament, President Akufo-Addo must uphold his end of the contract, according to Andy Kwame Appiah-Kubi, a spokesperson for the unhappy MPs.

"The budget is the president's budget, but in accordance with our stance, we agreed with the president to respect a roadmap to answer our request, which implies that at the end of it, the president will also carry out what we requested him to do."

The President needs to fulfill his end of the agreement, he said, and soon.

We committed to wait until ABC was finished with our president, and now that we have complied with that agreement, we expect the president to follow through on his commitment to the timeline as well.
