I don't endorse any contender, Mahama says in an NDC poll

John Dramani Mahama, a former president of Ghana, has advised candidates in the upcoming election for National Executives to cease using his name in connection with their campaign.

The former President said in a statement that he had no preference for any of the candidates and has not given his support to any of them.

"Mr. Mahama has observed the attempt by certain contenders to construct a narrative that he supports their candidacy, in spite of his prior warnings. President Mahama is very interested in the NDC winning in 2024 so that they can work with suffering and expecting Ghanaians to build the Ghana we desire.

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) statement signed by Joyce Bawa Mogtari, the former president's special assistant, stated that "he, like other supporters of the NDC, will cooperate with anyone the delegates pick and elect."

The opposition NDC will conduct its 10th National Delegates Congress on Saturday in order to choose national executives to lead the organization before the elections in 2024.

The Office of the Previous President has also denounced a tabloid media report that one of the NDC candidates for National Chairman had the backing of the former President's family.

The rank and file of the party are urged to dismiss the aforementioned allegation and publication since they are untrue.
