The Black Maidens have been banned from competing in the
subsequent two editions of the FIFA U17 Women’s African Qualifiers and
subsequently fined $100,000.
This came after Moroccans protested that Nancy Amoh and
Rasheeda Shahadu falsified their birthdate records and are above U17.
The Ghana Football Association was once given the chance to
shield themselves in opposition to the stated claims by supplying the CAF
Disciplinary Board with a written response however they did no longer furnish a
statement. This has however been refuted by the Ghanaian FA.
Ghana won 2-0 in the first leg with goals from Nancy Amoh
and Stella Nyamekye in Accra before Morocco won 2-0 in the return leg in Rabat
to pressure penalties that the latter won 4-2 to qualify for this year’s FIFA
U17 Women’s World Cup in India.
Ghana can still contest this decision before the CAF Appeal
Board which according to the GFA, would happen.
The GFA says, they will study the full decision and reply
with a written appeal accordingly.
